Terms of Service

These Terms outline what you can expect from YouTube Transcriber and what we expect from you. Please read them carefully before continuing to use the product.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of YouTube Transcriber (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the product you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and notifying us of any unauthorised use.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create security risks.

3. Acceptable Use

  • Do not extract or distribute YouTube content in violation of YouTube's Terms of Service or applicable copyright law.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or abuse the Service, API endpoints, or upstream providers.
  • Do not upload, store, or share personal data of others without a lawful basis.
  • Captions retrieved through the Service are streamed only to your browser session; the platform does not cache or redistribute raw YouTube media.

4. Plans & Billing

  • Free accounts receive limited daily transcript quotas.
  • Upgrading to a paid plan authorises us (via Stripe) to charge the selected subscription on a recurring basis until cancelled.
  • Fees are non-refundable unless required by local law. You may cancel at any time to stop future renewals.

5. Intellectual Property

We retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in the Service. You retain rights to any content you own that is processed through the Service. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely for delivering the functionality you request.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or accuracy of transcripts derived from third-party sources. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of USD $100 or the fees paid by you in the preceding three months. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

8. Term & Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or abuse the platform. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately and we will delete your personal data upon request or as required by law.

9. Changes

We may modify these Terms from time to time to reflect new features or legal requirements. We will post the updated Terms at this URL with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
